How old does my child have to be to enroll at St. Dominic School? Your child must be 5 years old by August 31 to enroll in kindergarten. Students may enroll in Pre-K if they are 4 by September 1.
Physical Forms:
When does my child have to have a physical?
Any student NEW to the building must have a physical as well as a current immunization record.
Contact Information:
What information should I be getting from the school?
At a minimum, you will receive a REMIND message (once a member of our all-school REMIND group) each Sunday evening. You will also receive other information directly from your child's teacher. REMIND is our school-wide communication tool.
Who do I contact if I change my address, email address or am not receiving any information from the school?
Contact our main office at 620-276-8981 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
How do I contact teachers or staff members?
Go to www.st-dominic.org to find out how to reach any teacher or staff member via email or phone number. You may also call the main school phone number at 620-276-8981. The school office is open daily during the months school is in session from 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM.
School Uniforms:
What is the school uniform policy?
The Uniform Policy may be found in the Parent/Student Handbook located in your student's agenda provided the first day of school. Students have one Dress Down Day per month (the FIRST Monday of each month). That policy is also in your Parent/Student handbook.
Arrival and Dismissal:
Where do I drop my student off in the mornings?
Students enter the school using five different entrances, using the entrance door closest to their classroom. Students go directly to their classrooms with no gathering areas within the school. Class begins at 7:45 AM. If your child arrives after the 7:45 bell has rung, please take them to the main (east door) entrance and have them buzzed in.
Where do I pick my student up?
In order to have an orderly and safe dismissal, it is necessary that students exit from the north, west or east exit door that is closest to their classroom. All students from the primary annex will be walked to the east exit door by their classroom teacher and dismissed there. Please do not park on the opposite side of the street or do U turns in front of the school. School is dismissed daily at 3:15 PM.
Getting in and out of the school building during school hours:
What do I do if I need to drop something off during school hours?
Saint Dominic does have an automatic security system that remains locked throughout the school day. If you need to visit the school during school hours, come to the east entrance. There is a buzzer next to the door. Push the button and give the person your name and proceed to the School Office to check in.
What do we do if my student will be late for school or has to leave early?
Contact our Front Office at 620-276-8981 if you are going to be late or need to leave early. If you come in late, your student must be buzzed in at the east entrance and check in at the Front Office. If they need to leave early, they must be signed out in the front office before they leave.
Volunteering:
What kind of volunteer activities are available at the school?
Parent volunteers are essential to our school community and every parent is encouraged to become involved in some way. There are many volunteer opportunities at Saint Dominic Catholic such as: assisting at special events, joining our PSO, volunteering to read with students, drive for field trips, baking for parties, and/or helping as a "room parent".
How do I volunteer?
Fill out the volunteer sign-up sheet that you receive in the August Back-To-School mailing. The form can also be found under the PSO Tab of this website. You will need Protecting God's Children training before being able to help directly with students.
